Grain Store To Party Barn

Before, during and after images of this large barn restoration and rejuvenation project. The original grain store and differing floor levels were dug out so a new floating concrete floor could be installed. All the outer support posts had been previously encased in concrete and so had rotted away to nothing at the base (which is what happens if moisture cannot escape), so new timbers scarfed in to re-stabilise the whole structure. Internal posts were supported on new brick plinths with lime mortar (built using original bricks) and all damaged or missing roof timbers repaired or replaced. Lastly, 3 sets of new bespoke oak barn doors installed and this beautiful building was ready for it's inaugural party.

Cart Shed Re-build

With a listed cart shed to re-build following its complete collapse, we started by salvaging from site as much and as many of the original materials as we could find to include bricks, timbers and roof tiles. Using traditional methods and materials, we created an exact match to the original 5-bay building.

New Lease Of Life

A full barn restoration project to turn a disused and run down building back into a flexible, secure and insulated space. Once all the timbers were treated and repaired as required, the barn was dressed with oak cladding which will eventually fade to a subtle silver/grey colour.
